Paxil, prozac, etc for dogs?

I have contacted the breeder and of course she says "whoa, I have never had this problem with my dogs before" and basically not much else was said.

I never gave the meds to Ruckus because the trainer I started using said something to the fact that.... Ruckus does not need medication, he needs a leader. and told me that if he was me he would not put Ruckus on meds.
so i dont know what i want to do..

My Pogo has the complete opposite problem-he has fear anxiety. I have two very regular visitors (my mom and boyfriend) who come over almost daily. It doesn't matter. We've tried everything under the moon and stars-special treats, favorite toys, ignoring behavior...etc...nothing worked. If they move even the slightest, like getting their drink from the coffee table, Pogo barks and growls at them (well, I say that. I think he's still trying to find his bark-he sounds more like a car on bad gas :lol:)

I had my vet do a complete blood panel on him to see if it was his thyroid and he was fine. He gave me the same thing you have. I used it just to calm him down so he could focus on me. I combined it with training and it seemed to help. His anxiety was preventing him from listening to me, which was only making his anxiety worse.

I just wish Ruckus was a dog that I could trust. And that I can take anywhere. I cannot trust him not to bite, and its really made it hard to take him to petco, dog parks, and hiking trails. If we meet someone on a hiking trail he comes super unglued and does not calm down from his fit for a long time. Id say about 5 mintues or more. You never know when someone is coming around the corner, and Ruckus lunges on the leash and I am just so scared he will bite someone.

It is really upsetting to have a dog that you are truly scared to really take out of the house. :cry:
