Pet insurance.

I thought that would be the case. I'm going to get a quote regardless and look into their inclusions/exclusions and do the math.
Don't go with them Barb - they may look good but their reimbursement is UP to 80%, provided you don't have high claims.

Just noticed this thread, probably because it became apparent I need insurance for the boys after yesterday's Koko problem. When I went in the exam room, this was on the wall:

So I asked! They didn't have any they endorsed, they accept all insurance. They did have some flyers from different companies--Embrace, ASPCA, and Petplan. Will be investigating these plans over the next few days. Thankfully DH held an insurance license, so he speaks the language and understands all the pitfalls!

One of the ladies in the office said a woman recently used Embrace for the major care her dog needed and they paid immediately. So I guess I will start there.

Pet plan is very cheap and I chose a 200 dollar deductible, and my reimbursement is 90%. I pay $60 a month for 3 dogs.

I know that I mentioned this before, but the little detail that caused me pause when comparing pet insurance was: some polices pay 90% of the vet's actual bill for the covered expense; some policies pay 90% of a "standard and reasonable" fee for such a service (who knows how they compute "standard and reasonable"); and others pay 90% of some internal chart they have established for the covered expense. Might be worth finding out which one Petplan uses.
