Picking show dates

oh, as for timeline, I was expecting it to take quite a bit of time, I just don't want to stop moving, even if its a little bit at a time, otherwise I might start losing the interest I have now, which seems to be pretty significant considering there isn't a sheltie club in the area and hasn't been for over 25 years.

Have you got the support of Sheila and Cissy Monks, and Sandy McIntosh-Feret? You will want them on your side, they are old time sheltie people, and I think if you didn't seek them out, they would feel slighted. Not good.

Not sure who or where to find Sheila and Cissy Monks, Sandy has flat out told us she is against it. But thats not surprising as Sandy was the president of the Mohawk Trails Sheltie Club when it fell apart 25 years ago. When I went to her she told me to join a club that hasn't been accepting members for 3 years now. I told her while all breed clubs are fantastic, they arent as knowledgeable about shelties as a specialty club. I wanted something closer to home than traveling out to Syracuse once a month for meetings(2 hour drive)

What? What kind of local club doesn't accept members? That's very silly.

I know, they say their full, but its more of a 'we want to be exclusive' type of thing, you know friends only type of club.

They should be members of the we hate everybody else league but if they don't want me, I don't want to belong to them.

On the doesnt accept members thing, I talked to one of the board members. Apparently they have over 300 members at this point. They have so much money in the coffers that they actually built a training facility and even then the facility is overcrowded, which is why they arent accepting. That and they just voted to not accept new members for another year. That being said I can still pay them to take classes there(not gonna happen for the price they want).
