a friend's neighbor has a sheltie puppy and they came with is to the beach.
Luke's owner said he liked to play on the beach and sand wasn't an issue as it all fell off him....
I tried to prepare her for what Pico looked like, and she didn't believe me.
She believes me now.
Her dogs are more typical shelties...slightly reserved and not terribly playful with other dogs.
A bit of run and chase, but not rolling in the sand and water playful like my guy with his best friend.

Oh my, Pico really knows how to have a good time! You must budget in bath time after every beach walk, those Sheltie coats hold a lot of sand! Looks like a beautiful beach and a great place for doggie fun though.

Pico, isn't it nice that your servant dries you off and fluffs you up after a hard day's play at the beach and then feeds you and give you water...Pico you have it made... oh yeah and is willing to happily clean out her car and or house when you bring the beach home with you... what fun.
 
I have 15 years of sand in my carpets. I have hosed them down and beat them. Still, no matter what, I lift up these rugs and there is a fine dusting of sand underneath. It just trickles down. Gavin loved the beach, too. Even though he didn't get quite as sandy as Pico does. And we won't even discuss the back seat of the car LOL
