Pico

What fun-- Pico is having a blast and the wave were no bother (is he part golden Retriever- or at least a lapador retriever)... Living the good life.. And you got to enjoy watching them play the the sand shower that came along later-- it was a win win day!!
 
He is so brave about the water! Our first Sheltie would go in about that deep also, but most of them will only get their feet wet. He's having a blast and I know he's a tired pup after all that. Sure wish our local beach was clear of tar like that!
 
Pico will go out further with proper motivation...usually a ball or another dog.
But normally he seems to go in until the water hits his belly.
These beaches are pretty shallow, with a decent shelf of sand.

Even though September is the month with the warmest water up here, you don't see ANY people in the water LOL! The fisherpeople often wear down jackets
