In a few weeks, we will take a road trip down to Big Sur.
Its my vacation before I quit my job to be stay at home sheltie Mom.
Camping sites at Kirk Creek in Big Sur, San Simeon, and Morro Bay.
I have a gifted 4 person car camping tent (re-strung the poles and put it up today) and am assembling everything else we need :)

I hope Pico enjoys our vacation!

I'm hoping Pico really takes to it!
I'd love to camp all over CA with him once I retire :)
I haven't done much car camping, but that seems more his style (over backpacking).
I am still accumulating some gear to make it more comfy.
I even bought a backpack so I can carry him sometime since he hates uphills so much LOL

Sounds like it’ll be a fun trip Cindy! I know several years ago I’d looked into getting a tent that attached to my car but everyone I knew poo pooed the idea so I didn’t get one. I’m sure you guys will have a great time, you have such amazing places to see in California!

Just so you don't go thinking Pico is spoiled.....I took a similar trip with Gavin when I was in between jobs in the mid 2000s.
This one has more camping. hopefully it wont be too cold and damp along the coast

Tent camping is fun on so many levels. I used to backpack with my irish setter and border collie/ german shepard mix. When the back packs came out of the closet my irish setter would not leave them- literally fit his paw thru the straps and lay there not moving. For dogs camping is really an intense adventure because they not only see strange new things they smell them and hear them-- their adventure is larger than ours in many ways... Be safe and have tons of fun.
