Sounds like it’ll be a fun trip Cindy! I know several years ago I’d looked into getting a tent that attached to my car but everyone I knew poo pooed the idea so I didn’t get one. I’m sure you guys will have a great time, you have such amazing places to see in California!

PM sometimes our friends do truly give us bad advice, they limit us prejudiced by their own limitations and likes.

I could see it too. We've avoided our beaches due to LOTS of tar in the water and on the sand.

Such fun! And such beautiful sights to see! But I bet you have a lot of sand in your car afterwards !

I remember years ago tent camping with my mom and her dog Whiskey (a nasty Cocker Spaniel) and 10:30 at night we went to go to the bathroom and left the dog in the tent. Bugger got the tent zipper open and got out…we got back and there we were in the pitch darkness calling this dog trying to find him. We were able to, but we never left him in the tent again alone! Haha

My car always has sand in it! LOL
Pico settles well at night, so I am lucky. Now, I would never leave him in the tent alone.
That is not a Pico approved activity!
