Pink and Black Nose?

I am purchasing a sable merle puppy who has a beautiful full blaze on her face. Her nose (at age 3 weeks) is pink and black. I am told by the breeder that this is not unusual for a full-blazed puppy and that her nose will eventually turn all black. Is this correct information?

Any idea about what age this happens? Maybe different for each puppy, eh?

Very true! It's also common for all colors of puppies. As long as it's black at 8 weeks, the puppy will be fine! Sometimes, it just takes longer to fill in black.

Also keep in mind that, because she is merle, portions of her nose may stay pink. The pink generally fills in at least a bit, but because of the merle it may not fill in completely.

my blue merle Skyler had a pink and black nose as a pup, and now at almost 5years old his nose is mostly black, but he does still have a pink spot. his breeder said that in merles if the nose isnt completly black by 3 months they usualy will keep some of the pink.
