Piper’s vet visit

Thank you Ann. It’s never easy waiting for someone to die. I did it with my sister and that was hard. This is harder.
I will stay with her as long as it takes.
Thank heavens for my brother in law. That man can irritate the heck out of me sometimes but he’s got a heart of gold!
He came to the hospital this morning to get Piper (I didn’t think this would happen so fast) and then went to my house at 4 to feed the dogs. Then he brought me some supper and coffee at 6 and is going back to my place at 8 to take the dogs out again for the night.
I couldn’t be here without his help!
True character shines thru in times like you have. I was concerned about my two sister-in-laws being trouble when Mom passed (more the one) but they were angels. In the end they are good people with flaws like we all have, when the times called they stood up as the good people they are.

Ian sends hugs.

I’ve decided when all this is done and everything is settled I’m going to take a train trip. We have Via rail that has a Western portion that goes to Vancouver and the Eastern to the East Coast. I’m not sure which I want to do…maybe both? But all by myself. My brother in law can stay at my house and care for my dogs. I’ve been caring for my mom for over 20 years, furthest I’ve been in a dog show 200 miles away 6 years ago! I truly need a vacation…I’m looking forward to it.
I’m going to start checking for deals.

That is on my one day list. Take the trans-Canadian Railway end to end.

I’d like to see the East Coast but apparently it’s quite the let down going West to East. If you do go make sure you go East to West.
I booked a trip departing Winnipeg on December 21 and departing Vancouver on December 25 to Winnipeg. I do have to make sure it’s the same train as they do get delayed occasionally because they share the tracks with the freight trains and often have to wait.
I booked a cabin for 1 there and a cabin for 2 return (all they had besides Prestige)…so for just over $3000 I get all meals included, my own cabin and beautiful sights for almost 6 days. I could’ve flown back but I’ve never been on a plane and I really want the solitude.
Christmas will be hard this year so I figure I’ll just skip it all together. And my brother in law can just babysit.😁
Something to look forward to.

Oh Lisa, I am so very sorry to hear about your mom. We all have to go when it is our time, but caring for someone for so many years you have a special bond with her. I hope all is peaceful for both of you. Your mom know you're going to have this big old hole to fill and yup, a puppy can help fill that... what a loving, selfless blessing for your mom to give. Glad you are thinking ahead. Many hugs from afar....

I wanted to go not winter and bring the camera. If it is the one I read about they have open cars for photographery in the hookup. There is another on the list that is in Colorado, so easier for me.
Yes, the dome car…it’s all windows.
I’d have preferred to go in summer but all the cabins were booked straight into November.
Maybe if I enjoy it I’ll book again but earlier so I can get a cabin for the summer. I don’t care to sit in coach for 3 days at my age!🤣
