Almost 2 months in for his thyroid meds and his fur is growing back in (the bald spot on his nose is almost gone) and he’s discovered his love of toys again! Of course I have to be holding it but that’s a small price to pay to see him having so much fun!
This was over 5 minutes (before I started recording) of him going crazy for his toy! He played with it for longer than Finnie did! Lol
Warms my heart to see him loving life!
 
A couple weeks ago my sister was over and she asked me how old Piper is, I told her he’s only 11. She said ONLY? That’s old she said…she went on to say how her dogs have only lived to 11.
Her and I are like night and day…while she has dogs (Mutts or Bichons) a dog is just a dog to her…she’d never spend a great amount of money on a dog if it was sick and it’s certainly not that she can’t afford it.
She currently has a 5 year old mix that has cataracts and is almost blind…this dog has major allergies and she gives her Apoquel…and then lets this dog eat whatever she wants! Apoquel isn’t a magic drug!
My sister is very smart…but when it comes to her dogs she’s stupid.
Piper is only 11 and I’m thankful he’s not in a household like hers, she would have given up on him 2 years ago!
One year ago I was counting down the days as he reached his 1 year anniversary of his surgery and here we are approaching his 2 year anniversary!
And I think he’s finally coming out of his shell since my mom passed, he’s more his barky full of attitude self!
He’s going to be with me for as long as possible!🤗
And your right Cindy, he is very inspiring!🥰
 
Piper IS amazing, Lisa, and that's probably due in large part to your care. You take the time and make the effort to find the root of issues and deal with them. Piper is a lucky boy to have you for his human! :yes:
 
They are worth all our devotion. We are all they have. The responsibility of that is what we owe them. While not as radical as what happened to Piper, we've had our own struggles here, especially getting Meadow's seizures under control. Thankfully after a year of jugglig meds/dosages/combinations, she has not had a seizure in 3 years. So grateful.
