Piper's slippers are too big!

I learnt this from our current trainer...she will use lids or put empty water bottles directly in front if the front paws. All I had handy at the time were the yogurt containers so that's what I used. It's a distraction for them, teaches them to maintain the sit (especially when they start to feel comfortable going down). I took the picture after he'd stayed in his out of sight stay for 3 minutes (he got a good treat for maintaining his sit (he also tends to roll onto his hip, a prelude to going down lol).

Now I have never had trouble teaching my dogs this exercise.

Minnie I have never trained this, but it has come all by itself in daily life.
I would have a little trouble doing this method, though it may be harmless.

But Piper nevertheless look so cute.

Piper is so cute. I've never even thought about doing anything like that. I've always thought that sit and stay is probably the most foreign concept to a sheltie- who always just wants to be near you.

Your absolutely right Missy...plus this is an out of sight stay so even harder for them. And of course Piper is my shadow, he needs to follow me everywhere lol.
