That sounds very positive. I think there is no harm with another dog telling a pup "hey, I don't like that" because it is how dogs learn.

I would keep sessions short and sweet for the moment, and finish when both dogs are still eager for more play, which leaves them with a positive memory of the occasion.

I think dogs have to learn to stand up for themselves and how to play with all kinds of dogs... I am a bit fussy about it but my hubby is great... Che goes to pooch park everyday and we have observed tremendous difference in his behavior, self assurance, ability to "tell off" bullies... being diplomatic who wants to play what game...
Ginger mom, I would watch for reaction of your dog to tough play and see what happens... if they were pals before they need to learn how to play with each other.... personally I watch for Che reaction- sometimes I feel terrified inside when dog twice as large as my pup puts his jaws around Che neck and they both wrestling, but if Che is loving the game he would continue and initiate play while if he does not he either growls or runs away under the fence or table... usually dogs can sort easily enough between themselves if the game gets to rough for their liking, as long as it is one on one play...
