Porter this week in class.

[Justicemom]

Here is another video of Porter in his Super puppy class. He is really looking good. Coal makes a few appearances too.

They start scent articles this week. Point is to get them to start using their noses to find the correct article. PB was put on the metal one and the handler just walked them up and let them sniff about without any command and then they praised them when they found the loaded one. Eventually down the road(way down the road) , they will be find an article with the handlers scent on it out of a bunch of unscented ones. Both boys did great, but Coal figured it out quick. He was brilliant.

The video is labeled with what Porter is learning. Enjoy.

I'll just continue to make video updates in this thread in the future.

I am in awe watchnig these babies! They both pay such careful attention. Ellie does that at home but is so nervous at class. I sure hope I can get her past that fear. I LOVE watching these videos! Keep them coming!

They are both doing great! so fun to watch. Love the end. Did I see a third sheltie? and was that Rachel ?

That was Diva. She was busy acting motherly and above it all. And yes that was Rachel.

[SheltieChe]

they both absolute darlings! Beautiful drive to work! I think I might even change my mind that Shelties only come in one color

I learned that a long time ago. At one point I didn't care for the black ones. What was I thinking?

it was nice to see Rachel and put a face to the name. We hear so much about her. I thought that was Diva.

I am finding this quite fascinating! I love seeing how the boys are coming along and also the different exersizes and methods to what we have here (e.g we train scent discrimination on cloths). In both videos it is quite apparent that the dogs are really using their brains and focussing which is fantastic - I expect they are pretty tired afterwards!

I am curious (probably going to hear this phrase quite a bit) as to how the 'learning where my back feet are' is trained, as this is something which as yet, Yogi is struggling to comprehend and we get crabby heelwork. It looked like luring/manouvering round into position?

Good question! I was trying to figure that out, too.
