Proud furmomma

:o, okay, Megan humbled me, she let me know that she is great at sit/stay in CERTAIN situations!! I am starting to work on the sit/stay with distractions, like walking by the elementary school during recess, she didn't do as well :uhoh:.This is okay of course, we're still learning and I am sure it's my fault

A hard distraction for us to work through is if someone throws the treat bag on the floor...or better yet the treats. Or if someone else in the room yells "ok" which is what I use as their release command.

I was quite surprised last night that she did so well at school around complete strangers and dogs that I became a little "cocky" when we went out today for our walk. At home, the back yard and our normal walks, sit/stays are pretty good, but not the one by the school . OHWELL, hahaha, we'll get it!

Justice was the star of his obedience class too. He would just sit there looking at me and did whatever I wanted. He was a sponge, I was amazed as he was my first sheltie.:smile2: He was in training for Open by the time he was 9 months old. First Open class, instructor asked me if he knew the drop on recall. I said, he knew a recall and random drops but we never put it together. Instructor said try it and he did it right the first time. A lady standing close to me with a GSP muttered "Damn Shelties" :biggrin2:
Ember equally as quick.

I'm paying for it now with Diva. She's the class clown. Smart but likes too fool around a bit too much.:rolleyes2:

I would always take dogs to class even though I can teach them at home. Totally different in public then at home.:smile2: Maybe Megan is a future obedience star?

Maybe Megan will be, wouldnt that be nice . However she let me know today that she wasn't going to make it too easy on me to train her, that's okay we'll get through it

Haha, oh I know totally, I have two human teenagers as well :dead:. Just kidding, there good kids..

So how old is Megan in human years if she is 5 months old?

She is about 11 or 12 yrs in terms of development physically and hormonally. The best is still to come.:smile2:
