Actually she is quite lazy :lol: I am having trouble keeping weight on her. with her bad hips she doesnt want to do much, so you would think she would gain weight, but no she has been loosing weight. The vet cant find anything wrong with her so she gets extra food.

Hmm.. how much should she weigh?
 
the vet would like to see her get to 39-40 pounds. she isnt too skinney but you can feel her ribs easily and her hips.
 
Well for weight distribution it isn't just about height...there is the length factor and light bone vs heavy bone structure. I'm sure JessicaR's vet is basing his weight recommendations on her dog's individual frame requirements.

Oh true true! i've heard that before and Deja is very petite for her size. She has a light frame.
 
yes pepper is a big girl :biggrin2: not at all dainty! basicly the vet told me to get her off the senior dog food and put her back on regular food since it has a higher fat content. A couple hundred dollar vet bill to tell me to switch foods, the joys of dog ownership :lol:
