I would guess they could still shift on thier own - Riley's moved quite a bit after his retained baby teeth were removed. If not, veterinary orthodontists and doggie braces are a thing: http://m.petmd.com/dog/care/dog-braces-everything-you-need-know

Is there such a thing as a canine orthodontist or some kind of specialist who could evaluate Relic and see what the options are?So, I can't catch a break... Because of Relics underbite, his lower canines are not sliding into the slot they would if he didn't have one. Has anyone else ran into this before? Can this be corrected or will I have to pull them as well? I would really like for him to keep them if at all possible.![]()
My vet is looking at him on Monday. He said he was going to give Purdue a call and see what options we have.Is there such a thing as a canine orthodontist or some kind of specialist who could evaluate Relic and see what the options are?
The vet ended up removing more of the roots that were left from his upper canines. That became and issue I noticed after further inspection. He agreed that something was going to need to be done with his teeth. The bottom lower canines that are coming in wrong, after further inspection, can not be pulled in fear that he will break his jaw. He has referred me to VCA Northwood Animal Hospital and I got a $50 off the first appointment. Yikes! He said I could look into a few other places. We will be looking at Purdue Vet School and University of Illinois in Champaign, IL. His breeder is willing to pay for the cost. She said she wants to make it right for us. She said she wants to even set up the appointment and take him up there if needed. It may have to happen because I am limited on taking time off of work. I just want the little guy to be able to close his mouth. How did the appointment go?
