About 6 weeks ago I was very concerned about my little 2 year old Pyper. She was very lethargic and not acting like she was enjoying her self in agility anymore. I had her tested for thyroid problems. She tested normal. Dr. Shelli, here on the forums, looked at her numbers for me and suggested that her Ember gets lethargic if she gains a couple pounds. Pyper was within normal range, but she had gained a few pounds. I cut back on her food a bit and gave her more exercise. We went to an agility show n go today and she is back!!
She finish 3/4 of her run with gusto, then broke out in a very bad case of the zoomies!! She was so happy!! I let her finish, then set her up at the last jump she had done, and she finished the rest of the run perfectly. Her second run was nearly perfect and with an energy that saw me scrabbling for some new handling techniques. It just feels so great to have my girl back and enjoying herself!!
Thank you to everyone who offered help and advice and a special thanks to Dr. Shelli, whose simple suggestion was the ticket!!

A week ago she jumped over the side of the couch while she was running amok, we were both shocked, she has NEVER jumped over things before, and she was having a blast doing it.
