Pyramid Pan treat maker

The internal medicine specialist said I have to choose 1 protein only if I'm going to add food to Tully's prescription diet. So do I give her kangaroo mince or white fish? I assume the fish would cook up better in treats, but I am leaning towards kangaroo because I can also use it with the cats, although roo mince can be dry to cook and I'm wondering it it's too lumpy for the pyramid pan. I guess there's only one way to find out (although still waiting on the pyramid pan).

I'm thinking if the kangaroo is minced like ground beef and added to the tapioca/water (a soupy blend) it might be ok. Plus mixing it all together with the liquid would probably break it up into small pieces (I wouldn't cook it first although you could). I've done the tuna fudge recipe but changed the tuna to a ground chicken (I ground it up in food processor) and it turned out fine.

You can also make the tuna fudge (with the kangaroo) in a regular cookie sheet lined with parchment paper. Just mix all together (but with just the 1/2 cup water that takes the place of the liquid from the tuna) and spread out onto cookie sheet and bake at 350 for about 20-30 minutes. It's quite gummy and after cutting into strips I usually put back into a low over for 30 minutes or so to further dry. Then I cut inot bite sized pieces

I'm not sure why, but eveything is still too soft.

But in the meantime I made some 'Tully Muffins', which are just roo mince, white potato, little bit of spinach and pumpkin (leftovers), pinch of salt and pepper and tapioca powder. I used a mini muffin pan. The smelled darn delicious when they were cooking, if it wasn't roo mince I would have eaten them myself. I put hardly any water in so they were like dough, hoping that will stop them being soft. At any rate, handy for hiding tablets in.

What did you make that was too soft Caro? The tapioca flour does change the texture of some things and if your using the pyramid pan it helps to preheat your oven or it's going to take longer for the cookies to bake, just because the pan has to heat up too.
Those muffins look yummy! I need to make some deer jerky for next Monday's classes, i went through so many treats this past week...going to cut Finnie's meal in half for all the treats he got!

I was ripped off!!!!

I got my 'pyramid pan', which I could only buy on ebay as it's not available in Australia. What a mistake. What I got was 1/4 of a pyramid pan-like thing. Obviously the ebay person just got some pyramid pans and cut it into 1/4 pieces, but they used the images from the pyramid pan, so it looks like it's big enough to cook a roast on, whereas you'd be lucky to fit a chicken wing on the ones I got. Sooo disapponted. Because the pieces are so small it curls up at the sides making it incredibly difficult to get stuff into it.

Also discovered that the RC dog food is too soft and may need tapioca to firm it up a bit to cook. But I will have to order a pan from the US now. Sad thing is, I often buy stuff from China that I can't get here and have never had a problem. It was the darn Aussie seller that was the dodgy one. I can't even leave a review either. grrr.

That's terrible! I hope you are able to get the proper pan. I bought my pan, bought the ingredients but of course have not tried to bake treats yet.

Thats awful Caro! Did you pay through PayPal? Dispute the transaction and you should be able to get your money back (I was ripped off years ago but was refunded eventually).
I did see the pan on Amazon Australia (not sure if your interested in it after this) but here's the link

Yep I think I'll be re-ordering through Amazon. This is exactly why I prefer Amazon over ebay, more accountability, but I wanted to avoid the postage cost from the US and crappy exchange rate as it works at $30. I did pay ebay through PayPal, but I opened it and through away the package, so not sure whether I still get a refund.

Hey when I followed your link I found these choc chip molds
https://www.amazon.com.au/dp/B073BYHFV8/ref=pd_luc_rh_crh_rh_sim_01_04_t_img_lh?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1. Might order some instead.

I'd still go ahead and dispute it, you'd still have your receipt showing what you were supposed to get. At worst they'd say no but I'd still try.
Weird that my link took you to those but that'd work too.
Just an aside, you could still make any treats with the tapioca flour on a cookie sheet lined with parchment paper.
