Know that you have to look under the signature and there is the date when the post was written !!
- could this not stand up straight above the avatar ????
- would help in the overview (old posts)
- not least, become the signature more manageable.

That's not going to change. How it is now is how it's supposed to work in Xenforo. You will just need to get used to the change.
 
I agree with Minnie and Silaria. I like seeing the location of the poster on the individual posts. It can be important in replying to questions depending on what country the poster is from. I'd like to see this restored.

Also, is there any way we can set up our individual viewing permanently so we see last post first? I don't want to plow through all the previous posts in a thread to get to the new ones. Some posts have hundreds of replies!

User friendliness is a personal preference. I'm not criticising you for preferring it the old way, I'm just stating the specific part you want changing can't be changed.
 
I just want to bid Sheltie Nation a fond farewell, my opinion is that THIS IS NOT FOR THE BETTER and it is a change I will just have to get used to is not a good enough answer. So far, I have found all the changes that you have made have deemed this one of the most Unfriendly user sites, so again, I bid you farewell. Sullivan
