I use "heel" for a left finish and "around" for a right finish. I also point with my hands. Bailey tends to pick up hand signals faster than verbal signals.
I used "heel" for the left finish and "around" for the right.
Rachel uses "swing" for the left finish. I know people who use close, get in, and get back for the left finish. Almost everyone I know uses around for the right.
my first thought is do you just mean walking at your left side?
that is 'heel'
if you mean a return to your left side from another position- that would depend.
we've been using 'place' for a left finish and 'around' for a right finish.
if you mean a left turn- we don't usually use a word.
I use heel to put mine in a moving heel position, but if it's a finish I use finish. It depends on which way I want them to go for visual commands. I tend to use visual commands instead of verbal since dogs are visual creatures. I've also found that visual commands(hand signals) override verbal commands almost every time.
