Recommendation for winter boots for Shelties?

Hi all!
Well, the snow is here and it's time to gear up for winter. My Byran HATES getting snow between his toes. Larry isn't a fan either. In addition, Bryan has hip dysplasia - mild - and is on shots every 2 months to manage it - and he is doing AMAZING! 45min walks daily and no limping. Super happy for him. My concern is with winter he could slide or slip, so I want some grippy boots to avoid that.

I'm looking at the suspender style boots, since they'll stay on. But I am not quite sure.

Has anyone else bought boots for their Shelties? Keeping in mind Larry is 19" tall and a big boy (yep, purebred...just BIG!) Bryan isn't a petite boy, either. I know I need to measure their feet, etc. But I'm wondering about brand.

Any feedback would be amazing. Thanks all!

I don't use boots on Teddy but I do use a product called Mushers Secret on his pads 3 times a week in winter
It's a food grade wax that you put on the foot pads and I put it between the toes too.
It helps prevent ice balling and salt from hurting your pup.
I also use it in the summer on hot days to help protect his feet
It was originally made in Canada to protect the feet of sled dogs.

Oh! I will definitely try it! I think that would be much preferable to boots. My fear is that boots, if not sized properly, could throw off his gait and end up causing him pain. THANK YOU!!!

You can get mushers secret from Amazon or Chewy and I would bet someone on here uses boots so that is still a good option. Happy Shopping. :)

These are actually the boots I am trying for my two this year. I have SO many pairs of boots, but with 2 dogs, I get a few of them on and others are off before I get all 8 on. Plus, they NEVER seem to fit exactly right or stay on for the entire walk. Here in CT, we use this VERY abrasive stuff on our roads... liquid spray on that eats through snow plows... so without boots, I tend not to walk the dogs in the winter just because there's just NO WAY I'd allow that crap on their paws. CT is the land of no sidewalks so you walk on the road in the crap or not at all - I choose not at all once they start laying the stuff down. It's activated by water too, so imagine a poor dog walking in, then licking their paws... getting that stuff in their tummies and then having it activated to eat away at their paws and tummies. These aren't cheap, but are cheaper on the Black Friday sale than I have seen them in years so I am giving them a try. https://canadapooch.com/collections/dog-boots/products/suspender-dog-boots?variant=40663163338837

Those are nice looking boots! I bet they’ll stay on and never lose one on a walk (at home is a different story lol).
