Roseglen Firefly, fly free

Fall fell hard this year. On Sept. 22nd, the first day of fall, Fillion crossed the bridge. Cancer took my baby from me far too soon. For 12 and a half years we were together 24/7, 365. The house is so empty without his sweet prescence.
He loved to meet people (especially kids and babies!). He loved going in stores or other people's houses to check things out. Of all my shelties, Fil was by far the smartest. He was the inventor of games and always played by the rules.
I chose this pic because I think it's the best one I ever took that shows his happy temperment.

It was the search for this puppy that brought me here to all of you wonderful folks on these forums. Thank you all for your support over the years.

Now that Fillion's gone, Benny and I are kind of rudderless. Benson's lost his joie de vivre. I hope he can regain it after some time, but he's never been alone before. Heck I should say "we" have never been this alone before.....

Farewell, little man, till I see you again.

My voice to other,s so sorry for the passing of Fillion. There is no easy path, and the loss feels like a blanket tossed over our lives. The thing I try to remember, at these times, is that regardless of what we do dogs - so unfairly- have short life spans and for all the times we have them we have given them a good life --and they have given back to us, we remember those times and know they know they were loved.. They were part of a pack that cared. Fillion will always be with you in spirit...it is that fine print at the bottom of the contract of dog ownership-- it never gets easier.

You did everything possible and then some to save him, Margi, and you gave him the best life any pup could wish for. I know that doesn't help, or ease the pain or fill the void that's left. I hope you and Benny can find some comfort and peace in each other. Thinking of you every day. :hugs

With great love comes great sorrow, as most of us here can attest. Fillion was beloved, and he knew he was. I am so happy I got to meet him a few years ago. I'm so sorry he's passed on to the Bridge Margi but he is running free, whole and happy again. You will reunite, I know. Hugs to you and Benny, I'm sure he's lost too.
