Run-Thru 12/27

nice runs!

one question (like always )
I don't understand the judging. don't you have "refusals", just faults?
here in Europe you would have got 2 refusals at the tunnel (first run, where you got the Q).

Sorry I didn't see this earlier, haven't been on for a while. in the US, there are lots of different venues with different rules. The one that we were competing in that day, CPE, does not call refusals if the obstacle is completed. If I had gone on there, I would have gotten 20 faults and an NQ. I believe AKC and USDAA, two other venues, do call refusals.

Haha, you're right, it's so confusing for me, too. Being in Europe, having set rules for everything.... I'm always wondering what Qs are, what is AKC, CPE and all acronyms
In general, it also seems that "american" shelties are very different from european.
Anyway, good runs! Keep having fun and enjoying yourselves.

I think the European Sheltie's are more foxier looking than the American Sheltie's.I love your dog.Very pretty!!:biggrin2:

Oh trust me, it's confusing to all of us too. LOL.
All the venues you have slightly different rules, they may or may not call refusals, sometimes depending on the level (novice vs. excellent - or masters). Even the contact zones are different.

You're probably righter, they seem to be a bit smaller and foxier, yep :biggrin2: I've heard they're slightly more difficult to train, more stubborn, but I have no idea if that's truth.
Oh thanks! Do you remember him from videos? I mightve shared pics, but my memory sucks so much
That's him 3 months ago.... I guess he really doesn't look very "american" :biggrin2:

:D Oh.... Im glad its not only me being so confused. When I hear AKC, SNooker, Gambler and all these.... I feel so lost XD. Nothing like that in Europe.

Wow, I guess I couldnt compete over there, Id feel lost all the time, not knowing how to run. Oh my poor memory

You don't have to compete in all of them though, we compete in CPE and NADAC, which is confusing enough! Some people I know have dabbled in an out of more then 2 venues.
I think the main difference between Europe and the US is that most venues in the US have games that rely of handler strategy and collecting up points, as well as distance skills. But Europe has (generally) more difficult courses.
