running naked

Oh Ember....you are too smart!!

Miko is like Ember. Any collar goes on him, he gets a bit slower and a lot more obedient. Take it off and he wants to run and play. They know.

Well...since my boys don't really own collars, I run Koji naked. I started in NADAC which has a no collars rule, so I'm used to that and like Silaria I run too many venues to remember what is what.

Maybe its a good thing I don't have a collar. Okay. I have a martingale for Koji, but I don't use it.

I should practice removing the lead at practices too, now that we practice outdoors. That way, he can't figure out when is practice and when is not. Okay, they know, but we can pretend they don't know. Shelties are too smart for me.

... and we often have roos hanging around so I don't want her running off.

Took me a minute to figure out what a 'roo' was, till I noticed your location. Not really a problem we have around here

Clancy always runs naked (sounds so risque!). He hates, loathes & detests his collar - all collars - in any case so I think that's one reason he loves agility

I don't ever run my dogs with collars. They don't wear them at the house either. I got into the habit of this years ago when in horses and the rule was always to take halters off for fear of them getting hooked on something and not being able to get themselves loose.

I know exactly what you mean!

My girls go crazy when the collars come off and we say "ready." It is like a switch in their brain that sends them into a hysteria of excitement. Fun fun fun.

I used to run Nellie in her collar, but last night at the run-thru she ran without, and will do so in trials. (video& thread up soon for that RT)

in germany you aren't allowed to run with anything on the dog. so with or without collars isn't a question ;)

but I also would never run with a collar in training, because I'm to afraid that something could go wrong.
