Ryder and terrible one update

:smile2:
Sleep deprived, on edge, going nuts - yep thats generally how people feel after spending 15hrs with an adolescent. Sounds like he is relying on you a lot to entertain him.

How are you feeding him? All food should come through food puzzles and treat bottles/dispensers so it takes him a while to get through his food and keeps him occupied. It also teaches him to amuse himself.

Teaching him 'on your mat' and 'settle' is a great idea. Get him to practise his stays and throw some toys onto his mat so he learns about quiet time.

Normally he is great at entertaining him self. We use to call him the one man party.
He gets fed in his crate 2X/day. Now that I am training more I will have to reduce the food. He gets food in a kong when left in his crate when I go out.
My other dog Maverick does not chew when he eats and inhales his food. So I have a feeding crate for Ryder so they dont get stressed over taking each others food. I take turns on who gets his bowl first.
Thanks for the feed back. I appreciate it

Have you tried any calming drops? I had bought some called Pet Calm at Petco. for Bella when she was getting car sick and then some people on here recomended Rescue Remedy by Bach.

I have been using them to keep Dodger calm during the broken leg healing period because he wants to be way more active than he should. Here is the link to their website. And from what i understand its ok to use the human type, i guess there is a new pet formula but everyone has been using the human kind on their pets for years. The only differnce that i can see is the pet formula contains NO alcohol. I found it at the Vitamin Shoppe. After reading about it, it sounds to me like while its not going to cure the cause of Ryders problem it may help in the training him that its going to be ok and help him through what ever this is he is going through. I am going to start using it with Bella on trash day, cause the trash truck turns her world inside out.

You too. Ryder goes nuts on trash day.
Maverick was WAY worse than Ryder, but mostly as a puppy. Ryder was way less sensitive as a puppy.
Actually Ryder seems not as bad today as yesterday. The squirt bottle works quite well with him, I usually just have to show it to him.
Its funny but they were at the day care Thurs, Thurs night, and Friday. Ryder seems to really act out after returning. Maverick no problem. I think this Thursday i am only going to bring Maverick and spend some quality training and walking time with Ryder.
Thanks for the tip. If I do not see any improvement over the next week I will look into it.
