It does, and I thought of that, so I set the nozzle accordingly. I haven't tried it yet because Sandstorm has been so good tonight so far....Bailey also likes being sprayed in the face. The difference is how I set the nozzle. She likes when it's set like a shower spray. She hates when it's a set like a single squirt. It's hard to explain. I hope this makes sense

Of course, I always praise the quiet. 
The GSD whine is a characterisitic, and can be annoying. I tried spraying Sandstorm today, and even on the more forceful non-spray setting, he could care less. He just looked at me as if to say "why did you do that, and so what".That's Diva. Loves the mist, hates the single shot. I squirted her once at puppy class and that shut her up forever.
We have alot of GSDs in my obedience classes. They all bark and whine(high pitched and squeaky) even when happy. What is with the GSD whine is that a breed characteristic? I'll take the sheltie bark any day.
I guess we can look at it this way- if he didn't have any "problems" to be corrected, maybe it would be boring. He is a dominant dog, period. No timidity at all. I also think because I am new to shelties I am finding out that he is just much more noise sensitive. He has been easy to train in allot of areas, so that is great. As far as excersize is concerned, he has two on average 45 minute adventures each day, on weekends more.

Hi- If you are talking about the spraying, he went right back to barking-I didn't make that part clear. When I am blow-drying my hair he stands there and growl-barks untill I am done. That is when I used the spray, when I started drying my hair. Didn't work. Sometimes he will stop before I am done because I ignore him, and I praise for that. If I close the bathroom door he scratches up the door, and if I crate him when I am blow-drying he moves the crate because he is barking in it and it scratches the floor. So I just dry my hair and ignore him. I am afraid if I used the spray for other things also it would not faze him- gut feeling. The vacuum cleaner is a whole other story-
Oh and P.S. I love my neighbors. Their chi's are adorable and Savey (the GSD) is hilarious, it is just his barking and mainly the 4 in the morning is
Of course, our neighbor is also hilarious at 6AM when he is trying to get Bella to do her business..............~~~high pitched voice~~~~ Bella, go pee pee.........Bella go pee pee!
