Sandstorm needs a very firm NO correction-nothing else works!!

After I say NO and Sandstorm stops, I praise him for stopping (after I make SURE he has stopped (for instance, barking while standing at the glass door when he has no reason-no cat, no stranger). So far, Sandstorm has been better regarding this. I really have to choose carefully and pick the most annoying behavior- so far it has only been the excessive barking and barking at neighbors, and only if he does it allot. I don't want to go around with him saying no,no,no- doesn't work.

We only get the occational bark with Bella and its usually during play however she is very food motivated and will go outside and put everything she sees in her mouth and most times would eat it if i allowed it and she has begun lurking around the human food and the staring and watching and waiting for the crumb to drop.

Just as many of you have said i also tried the ignoring thing but there are instances where you just can't.. I started saying a firm "No Ma'am" with the emphisis on ma'am and it seems to get her attention quite well and when behavior stops i immediately say "good girl" and then i try the art of distration just as i did with my kids...I used to give them a strand of scotch tape if i had to make an important phone call...LOL i am thinking of trying it with Bella.
 
sorry i was away on a cinco de mayo margarita binge... its a must when in Texas..LOL..

is there a way to make a link in the signature? sometimes i am smart (smrt) and sometimes not...LOL
