After I say NO and Sandstorm stops, I praise him for stopping (after I make SURE he has stopped (for instance, barking while standing at the glass door when he has no reason-no cat, no stranger). So far, Sandstorm has been better regarding this. I really have to choose carefully and pick the most annoying behavior- so far it has only been the excessive barking and barking at neighbors, and only if he does it allot. I don't want to go around with him saying no,no,no- doesn't work.Good point on the use of the word No, wrong or ah ah, whatever you use. They mark the behavior you don't want. The dogs stops the behavior. There is now a behavior void. The dog choses or you chose the next step. At this point we should praise the end of the behavior or ask for another behavior to fill the void such as a watch me ,a sit etc. So the correction as instuctive.
