SAYING GOODBYE, END OF AN ERA

As some members know I have been a member here since before bringing home my first Sheltie. He was one of Sasha’s trio.
My amazing, compassionate heart dog Trapp passed away 1 yr, ago this April. CHF,and at time he was diagnosed he was in advanced stages. I was able to enjoy 6 months of so many snuggles, and lots of “I Love you so much” whispered in his ears.

Fast forward a year, and Trapp’s half brother Jasper was diagnosed also with CHF, he also had terrible arthritis in his spine, and also in his left leg. Even though on medication for all he suffered with, there was a day that he just looked different. He was unable to walk on his own,and was carried to and from potty. He could not even tand by his dish to eat, so I put him on sofa with me and he would eat small amounts of food.

I always said I could never ever let any of my dogs suffer. I loved both of those boys with all my heart, they never lacked for anything. And my close friends here in forum, ahh the stories we could just laugh over, from years ago, when we were so new to this breed.

My deepest condolences to Barb V, Christina L, as both of you I have known pretty much since the beginning…just quickly scanning this Sheltie Angels threat, so many puppy’s and many shelties have now made their journey. For some of us, it is an end of a era.

Thanks

I am very sorry to hear both Trapp & Jasper have gone to Rainbow Bridge. We know our shelties are the best of what a dog breed can offer. So many have passed recently. We know the difficult journey you are on now. Virtual Hugs to you at this time of sadness. As we all know, we would not change our circumstances knowing they were one of the best parts of our life!

Michele, I remember your boys and all the years of enjoying the friendship offered here on the Forums. I remember the Magenta incident where so many of us tried to help a Sheltie in need. And your fabulous Southern Sheltie Gathering that I was so envious of. I am sorry both your boys have passed but they were so well loved all of their lives. For all the pain we go through I don't think any of us regret for a minute bringing these wonderful dogs into our lives.

Hugs to you, and I hope someday another Sheltie will find its way into your heart and home.

Oh Michele. how sad. It truly is the end of an era. I miss the old days when you were up early for a chat and our pups were young and crazy. Just heartbreaking to hear both the boys are gone, your home must be very quiet now, although I'm sure all our boys are probably having a little barkfest in heaven. What an amazing life they had with you.

Caro:hugs

Michele, you and I will always be the dearest of friends. We've been through so much together, some heartbreaking, but Oh! sooo much laughter. Everyone, the Southern Sheltie Gathering was epic -- both times I was able to go! Annie Laurie got her Canine Good Citizen certification at Michele's party, and I was able to come face-to-face with many of our members. Yep, our Shelties are rocking heaven forever and waiting for us with joy!

I remember you and your dogs, I am so sorry. I lost Sandstorm in February, it's painful.
