Justice is a beauty! Love that really black fur on his back.
3 weeks old photos from our breeder also shows the puppies to be really light in colour but all 3 of the puppies have black "spots" on their back.

Looking at those beautiful photos of Justice minds me of another reason why I wanted a sheltie - they are so photogenic! Of course there's also the part that they are not drooly dog, they keep themselves clean, they don't pick fights with other dogs in parks....the pluses just goes on and on

I get a Sheltie just two days after you! Welcome to the forum, your pup will be your best friend. The waiting period sucks doesn't it....Take this time to learn everything you can about the breed, it will help pass the time. I have been waiting a long four weeks and get to meet the puppies in just a few days, then four more weeks to wait, lol. I know how exciting the wait can be. I am from Canada as well so welcome from a fellow Canadian.

Thank you all for the warm welcome. Got to visit the puppy this past weekend. The breeder let us have the first pick. After watching the puppies play for about half an hour we decided on the second puppy. The breeder said it's a good choice since I'm planning to have the puppy herd ducks and I've got a big family living under 1 roof - an outgoing puppy is what we really need. I've named him Mozart. And here's the cutie...

What a cutie! He looks like a sable merle. Hard to see his back but I think I see patches of dark color.

Don't be fooled, herding dogs can be very reactive with other dogs and sometimes kids... ala Mr Toffee... but of course it's my fault for following DUMB physical corrections training when he was a puppy, so it's my fault he is a bit of a control freak who feels he needs to correct other dogs. I didn't protect him when he was a pup! He had too many bad experiences and it taught him to bite before he gets bitten... At least he doesn't go AFTER other dogs, but he doesn't want one in his face, especially happy dogs, lol
I used to have German Shepherds, which are lovely dogs, but Shelties are just as eager to work, yet even MORE empathetic and willing to please!! Probably smarter, too! lol
As long as you don't use punitive training and stay positive and build up trust you will have the companion of a life time... Mozart looks just too adorable for words! Good luck waiting... and welcome to the Forums!
