Bela had a hard time with the fireworks, too. Three nights in a row, plus last night a huge, loud, noisy thunderstorm to go with it.
I broke down on Friday and ordered her a Thundershirt. Wish I had done so sooner, so we couldn've had it last night.
She was so anxious that I broke hubby's law and let her sleep on the bed with us. Instead of just lying at our feet (as she usually does) she wedged herself between our shoulder blades and took turns resting her head on one of us. She got so upset that she was drooling a lot. I gave her a dose of Rescue Remedy early in the evening, but later had to give her another. After an hour that didn't seem to be helping, so I gave her half a benadryl to take the edge off. It worked wonders, but today I have a groggy dog.
I figure that we are making some progress, because instead of wanting to hide under the bed, she wanted to be up on the bed with us.
