So I have been picking at this project for a while but I now have it working proper on a breadboard. Next I need to build a case and test it with light bulbs (currently it is LEDs). If I can get it going it will have been fun and these are abut $1000 so out of the range of use for team practice :eek2: Mine will be way less.

And of course Sca is supervising

That's really cool!

I can just hear Sca telling you to stop playing with your silly toys and pay attention to him!!
 
Talk about real dedication. That would be so handy to have lights at training - it makes a huge difference to the dogs - when they hear the beeps they get so revved up (do your lights beep too?). Deska is getting a turn at being start dog on Sunday, he loooves the lights and goes beserk when they go off so hopefully that will make him run faster and not decide to do the Sheltie spin!

What is the rate of the light flashes anyway, i've never found that out.

The way that I have them they should detect the first dog lag, each dog and total time. I think I have an idea to kind of detect 2nd through x dog lag, not sure how well it will work but it would detect big lags. Right now the plan is to use my Mac to display data since large LEDs are expensive (maybe later)

There is two times here. UFli is 1 second and NAFA is 1.2 So once you hit start on my setup (assume UFli) in one second the Blue light comes on, then at 2 seconds it turns off and the top yellow goes on, at 3 seconds the bottom yellow lights and any start after 4 seconds is good (the green will light for 1 second then go off). Once I get stuff working it might be that we tweak the delay until Blue but that is fairly easy to do.

The initial design will allow either time base to be used.
 
Once you get them up and running, could you give me a quote? My team would greatly benefit from this. I wish I were this ingenious!

I will post more as I go but there is still a lot of work and testing :eek2: oh and right now it is Mac only
