i have a senior sheltie can anyone reccomend a shampoo help have used so many thanks

Does he have any specific problems? Dry skin, itchy skin, etc? Or are you just looking for a regular shampoo?

Same exact questions I was going to ask. But aside from any problems which Jess brought to light,.. We have used Mane-n-Tail on all our dogs. Never had any skin problems - no hot spots - no flakey itchy skin (dander type stuff). Smells decent and I have used it on my own hair on a regular basis.

Ditto the Earth Bath! I love it.. I use the puppy shampoo because I like the smell

I found this for my aging sheltie who towards the end had reactive skin, this worked well. If I wouldn't use it on myself I won't use it on my animals, especially my shelties because mine have been super reactive/sensitive to stuff. A little goes a long way, and I get it on amazon...

she has seasonal dermatitis so only in summer she is scratching living in florida we have summer almost year round. vet shampoos are too expensive and small bottles.

Try Buddy Wash Lavender and Mint shampoo, available on Amazon and not expensive. Contains shampoo and conditioner, plus tea tree oil which helps with sensitive or itchy skin and best of all, smells fabulous!

I use Malaseb, which is pricey, but it works great on Honey. I got it specifically for her stomach when she broke out with a staph infection from scratching to much, and internally I was scoffing when the vet told me I could just use it all over, because "a little bit goes a long way", but we've had an 8 ounce bottle for 2 years now, and it's only just started to empty, despite me using it with the cats in the fall too.

We combine that with Resisoothe lotion, which works wonders at getting them to stop scratching. We work it into the fur while she's still damp from a bath and it's very affordable.
