Thanks everyone for all the great information. I feel better knowing that this is normal behavior. I just feel bad because she loves people and of course everyone wants to pet her and of course she then backs away when they reach towards her head then they think she is afraid of them.
When she comes to us for scratches she loves to bury her face into our lap/stomach so that we scratch her sides, belly and especially her butt. And like I said she lets us do anything to her face. I just tell her to let me clean your eyes and she will walk up to me and let me clean her eyes.
I never thought about what Caro said, but it makes absolute sense to me. Ann I think your article was great!
