I just bought this sheltie cookie cutter and I had to share it! So cute! :biggrin2:

This is the receipe on the page for the dog treats (cookies/biscuits):

Dog Treats

2 1/2 cups sifted whole wheat flour
1/2 cup dry milk powder
1 cube beef bouillon, crumbled
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup cooked ground pork
1 cup grated carrot
6 tablespoons shortening
1 egg
1/2 cup cold water
(1). Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Lightly oil two cookie sheets. (2). In a medium bowl, stir together the whole wheat flour, milk powder, beef bouillon, and salt. Add the ground pork, carrot, shortening and egg; mix in to the flour mixture while gradually adding water to form a stiff ball of dough. (3). On a lightly floured surface, roll the dough out to 1/4 inch thickness. Cut into desired shapes using cookie cutters, and reroll scraps until no dough is left. Place cookies 2 inches apart onto the prepared cookie sheets. (4). Bake for 25 to 30 minutes in the preheated oven, or until the bottoms of the cookies are browned. Allow cookies to set for a few minutes on the cookie sheet before removing to wire racks to cool completely.

How cute is that?! A sheltie cookie cutter to make dog and people cookies with!

I am going to try the recipe, but I think that I will change the ground pork to turkey. I looked at the cookie cutters on ebay..how cute. I cant resist so I think I will have to buy them too.
Thanks for sharing the recipe.

how cute :D:D love those cookie cutters!

We had a thread a while back (around Christmas) were we all made sheltie cookies for Christmas. They also make sheltie candy molds.

I recently ordered a (much better than my last one!) bone pan to cook Smudge's pupday cake in. He's going to have a bone birthday cake and with leftover batter I am going to make paw cupcakes. :biggrin2:

That was the best fun!!:biggrin2: I took a batch to the first sheltie club meeting of the year as the Christmas party was snowed off and they went down very well. Unfortunatly I ran out of icing so they were all sable and white:lol:

When I got my cutter it came with a recipie for peanut butter dog buiscuits, but they were not a sucess. We called them 'sheltie hard tack' and fed them to the birds in the end:no: Your recipie looks much better!! Am expecting a pictoral view of the results:wink2:

I about died laughing when I read that! I made the WORST tasting cookies ever the other day. On top of that, for icing, I was trying to use color flow, and I just completely gave up. My Mom came in and ate like 6 of them, but it had to have been out of pity.

My sheltie cookie cutter rusted, and so I have a new one on the way.
