Sheltie eye problem

My nine year old female sheltie got up one morning with this third eyelid coming up over half her eye, it looks horrible. THe vet checked her out thoroughly and then sent us to a dental specialist and said it was her teeth or an abcess or something. Well, poor baby ended up having two teeth removed and put on antibiotics. They said it was caused by the infection under the eye due to tooth problem. Problem is it has been three weeks and it looks about the same. Has anyone else had anything like this happen? Thanks

Hard to tell with out seeing it but sounds like Horners syndrome.

eye problem

Thanks, that is what I read about yesterday, never heard of it and vet hasn't mentioned it. Her eye looks little better today. Is this serious or should we consult another specialist? She seems fine and not in pain or anything but it looks awful and I feel so bad for her.

Maybe you can check with an opthamologist? Indie was diagnost with Horner's syndrome, but it seems he was born with this... It's actually hard to diagnose. I think you can't tell with blood tests - no blood samples were taken from Indie.
But perhaps having another specialist look at it is a good idea. Good luck! i hope your sheltie gets better soon.
