Sheltie Had To Get Shaved - Question

I've just had to have a lot of hair shaved from round the abdomen of my Yogi, who is 7, so the vet could do an ultrasound scan. Normally he hates wearing coats but now, when it's well below freezing with several inches of snow on the ground he is wearing a coat and seems ok with it. I just think this is not like a moult when it comes out gradually and they have a chance to adjust, it's a very rapid loss of coat in cold weather so there is definitly a case for added protection.

I agree with Barb that I always think the weather makes them grow a thicker coat so I'm hopeful that some fuzz will soon start coming back.

Also, I recommend getting Derby on VibrantPets Senior formula supplement. I swear by VP, and so do many on the forum. The discount code for Sheltie Nation is SHELTIE

I have considered getting some VP for Sca as the recommendations are all great but...... it might go without saying....

Given the severe nature of the problem that would require shaving the poor Sheltie check with the vet prior to giving them something. From what others have posted the vet likely will think it a good idea but sometimes you have to be careful about other things when medicating

Good luck on getting Mr Derby back to 100%
