Sheltie lost: Columbus, NJ. Need prayers.

Thanks for the Support

Hello everyone in Sheltie Nation. I would like to thank everyone for
your concerns, prayers, kind words of support. It has been over 6 months since my beloved Heidi ran away. I miss her so much. My search for her is almost minimal now. I still pray that I will get the call that will bring her back to me. The calls we get a few and far between. The Township takes down our posters, no sooner than we put them up. Stand up signs on resident's lawns (with permission) are taken down after a week. Thousands of fliers in mailboxes, and no calls. An animal communicator states she is alive, in the wild, yet we never saw her in the location that we were given. Every weekend since her departure has been out looking for her. I am physical, mentally, and sometimes spiritually drained. We have decided that we must return to our lives, without Heidi. It was a difficult decision to make to stop looking. Now I just thanks GOD for the 12 years I had with her, and hope that if someone has her, that they take good care of her, that she is special. I must share that special Heidi with someone else. I will ALWAYS look for her when I am in that area. I will ALWAYS hope that the next phone call will be that call to reunite us. I know that if a reunion here on earth is not possible, I will see her again in heaven. Now onto a happier topic. My adoptee Angie, has brought to me so much love, that it helped me thru my difficult time. She has really come around. She now plays, snuggles, gives alot of kisses. She is the best! Also we rescued another Sheltie (6-7 years old) Emma. She was someone's dog, then given away. The man that had her kept her is a rabbit hutch with 2 other shelties.Emma had (estimated) 2 litters, almost was killed by her caregiver because she could no longer breed. She had emergency surgery to remove a "abscessed uterus". +lymes disease, and tapeworm. We have had her for 1month now. Getting along with Angie well. The rescue group is now asking us to possible take another Sheltie. We are waiting for more information. In my heart I miss Heidi, but in my heart I must take this bad situation and do something good. My husband and I are really into sheltie rescue (fostering) now. We have become very active in animal welfare programs. Well that is all for now. I just want to thank everyone for your kindness. Thanks again.

I am so very sorry that Heidi never came home. I think you are right to hope that she has been taken in by someone who will give her the love and care she deserves. And yes, you will see her again, on Rainbow Bridge.

I'm glad you've found Angie and Emma to fill the hole left behind.

Best wishes to you.

Heidi's mom...I think about you often. I know it is still hard, but it seems Heidi has given you a new job in her absence...to care for all these other dogs who need you. I am so happy to see you here :)

It is so good to hear from you, although we are very sorry that you have not been reunited with Heidi. But Heidi made YOU an angel for all the rescue Shelties now! What a wonderful calling, and the rewards will be enormous. You will see Heidi again, if not here, on the other side. In the meantime she is in every dog you give love and care to in her name. Please keep in touch with us, we love having you here on the Forum, and update us on your furry charges when you can...perhaps with pictures!

Nicely said, Ann! I echo that!

Very well put Ann! I don't think any of us could have said it better!

I have thought about you and Heidi often over the past months. I'm glad that you have taken in Angie and Emma! Hugs to you!

I too echo what Ann has said. It is unfortunate that Heidi has not returned, but now you've found another calling. I hope you will stay with us here.
