Sheltie Shampoo in 2025?

Howdy Folks,

Our big boy, Remy, is going strong these days. He's still a basket case when it comes to going out our front door, but he owns the backyard and everything/one who enters it. :) I pay a groomer to come to the house to trim his fur & nails, but we bath him ourselves. He's been in full shed mode here in SE Texas for the past few weeks and he seems a bit itchier than usual. Does anyone have a shampoo/soap recommendation for a non-show dog? The groomer recommended Davis de-shed - https://a.co/d/ewzzus9

but I don't necessarily want a de-shed shampoo. I'd like something that cleans but is also soothing to the skin.

Almighty Amazon has some best sellers:

Would really appreciate your advice in this regard.

Many thanks!

Mine aren't show dogs but I am a fan of Chris Christensen. I use White on White then After Bathe which makes them silky but also releases mats more than I would expect. Also for brushing I like the Ice on Ice, don't use it all the time but again it makes brushing out mats so much better.

I know there is cheaper but a bottle of white on white lasts me a while. I have a big bottle of After Bath but again have had it for a while. FWIW

My absolute favorite everyday shampoo is Buddy Wash Lavender and Mint. It has ingredients in it to moisturize so helps with itchiness and it is also a shampoo and conditioner, which I love. When you're doing five dogs, eliminating that second step is a real bonus. And I love the smell too! And yes, you can get it on Amazon. I buy it by the gallon.

I use both Bio-Groom Ultra Black and Super White on my dogs - Brodie gets 'rusty' in places from sun and it restores color. The white is amazing on his white fur but works well on Deacon's entire coat. Those work well, but my FAV shampoos are Warren London Magic Black and Magic White.... safe ingredients, smell wonderful, don't dry. Warren London has a milk & honey butter wash that has jojoba in it....

I LOVE the brand Natures Specialties dog shampoo. I have frequently used their deshedding shampoo (it just helps to remove more fur when you bathe them) but I’ve also used many different varieties. A few years ago when the dogs had fleas I used their neem oil shampoo (for a pesticide free option) as well as others. Not sure if they’re available in the US but worth looking into it because they have quite a few different varieties and all of them are very good. They’re also concentrated so you use less.
I’ve used other brands but always come back to this one.

I believe it's made in the USA: https://a.co/d/2M5OuTV

I used White on White for the first time today, after using Biogroom Whitening forever cuz Amazon had a sale on a gallon of it LOL. So for what its worth, here's my opinion of the "premiere shampoo" at least by reputation.

Although you use full strength, you don't need much to lather up. It has very little smell, if any, that I noticed. It rinses out fast and clean.
As to the whitening properties, I didn't see any difference between this and BioGroom. It got him white.

I think the best shampoo I ever used was called All Systems whitening. I had some trouble finding it a long time ago, which is how I ended up with Lillian Ruff (meh) and BioGroom. (pretty good)
Just my two cents worth.
