Your dogs weights sound fine to me Caro... If you can lightly run your hands along the dogs side and just feel a nice thin layer of fat (not centimeters) covering the ribs, than your dogs are a healthy weight.
I would be contacting the ACT Canine Council (your in Canberra, aren't you?) and obtaining a copy of the ANKC Agility /Flyball Rules and Regulations...
I have just been to their website and had a quick look and no where could I find any reference to weight. Height yes but nothing on weight....
Armed with this information you are now within your right (as long as your dogs are healthy) to attend training... Otherwise you can take it to the Canine Council and issue your complaint.![]()
This is exactly right. You want to feel the ribs just slightly. The other thing to keep in mind is that muscle weighs more than fat so if you are walking that much, you're getting alot of muscle there too.
The other thing to consider is body mass as well. Both Bacca and Indy are about same height at the whithers. But Bacca is several inches longer and his neck is as well. His bones are bigger too.
So Bacca is just over 16" and 10.5 kg (about 24 lbs)
Bacca is just under 16: and 9.3 kg (about 20.5 lbs)
