Hmm, I know this is an old thread, however it seemed like some people were going overboard on prices...or I've just overlooked exactly how much it did cost.
Breeder- 850-900
All 4 months of vacinations, deworming, microchip ~$240 Perfood Express down the road.
Monthly food ~$30-40 or less, though we use Acana or other higher-end food
Neuter $260, neuter plus IV hydration and some pain meds
Interceptor $8/month
Costco bed which he loved to chew on $20
Assorted toys and treats $60-90
Wire crate- $50
Right now off the cuff I would estimate we go through less than a bag of food a month, and $8 for Interceptor. Fleas haven't been a problem since he gets somewhat frequent baths, and I use my own essential oil spray on him occasionally.
Aside from the initial cost, vaccine and crate, you can save tons of money by using Petco or PetFood Express for your primary vaccinations and microchipping.
After that, you'll just have a monthly food, and a heartworm med bill.
Toys and snacks are extra, and variable. Best treats are whatever you're eating, and best toys are going to be your socks, etc.
