Shelties hate paw-shake?

I've never thought abouut teaching it to them. Brodie never sqw he point of anything that didn't involve a tennis ball. I'll try teaching it to Casey. He needs to learn something new. Annabelle too. As for Bonnie, a 13 ear old rescue, I'll be happy to just have my fingers when feeding her treats.

I do have to watch my fingers when asking Mozart to do rollover. He refuses to do it on his own so I guide his head with the treat. Usually end up with a few nips on my fingers.
 
Charlie instantly learned how to paw-shake and loved it! I think it was the first trick we taught him... and Maggie has already gotten the hang of it!! Maybe it's because they might be related... Hahaha:smile2:
 
After 2 weeks of constant bombardment with paw-shake Mozart is finally doing it. It seems that he didn't want to do it at first because he didn't know how to shift his weight around! :lol: During the 2nd week I also taught him to give both paws up to "dance" he was really baffled...just kept sliding backwards when I was holding onto one paw and asking for the other! In the end a piece of bacon did the trick. It was a snap when bacon was used as treat! :winkgrin: Now I'm onto training him to jump on command. Not a very willing jumper either.
 
Danny Boy knows how to shake or give paw but really doesn't like doing it. You could almost hear him sigh. He can speak but gets mad he was asked to and speaks REAL loud out of spite. It is funny. He used to fetch but gave up playing with his toys and fetching when he was about five.
