There are chiropractors for dogs??? Ok, my country is sooo lagging in canine care.

Geerome is right. Vets aren't as all-knowing as we make them out to be (tho' often they happily dispense advice they have no qualifications in giving).

Another thing to look into!! Sigh. He's doing alright now - runs well, jumps high. But I want to see what I can do in terms of preventive measures in the event it takes a turn for the worse in the future. It might be that I can't do anything to improve or prevent it from getting worse, but at least I explored it and tried my best!
 
There are canine specific chiropractors, there are also human chiropractors that will work on dogs as well. I take Gio to a human chiropractor for his back issues, and aslo as a follow-up/prevention because of his seizures.
 
Ok, I found the Singapore Chiropractic association on line. If I were you, I would see which chiropractor is close to you and call them and ask if they know how to adjust dogs. I am not sure what the rules are in Singapore, but here in Manitoba, Canada, chiropractors have to be 'supervised' by a vet (although between you and me, most just do it anyway :wink2:, although they may not tell you that over the phone) But I am sure you can find one.
 
Oooh!! Ok! I will ring up all the chiropractors and see if anyone of them can work on a dog. I put up a post on a local forum asking if anyone's heard of a canine chiropractor and came back with zilch anyway. I fear I might get alot of "you want me to do what?? hahahah!!!" but it'll be worth the effort! I hope I find someone!!
 
When I looked on the Singapore association web site, you might have more luck with one of these two first. From the names of their clinics they do not sound too medical so they might do it:

I have to disagree with GeeRome on vets not always paying attention or mentioning "faults" and such in my dogs. Since all my dogs but one have medical issues, he notices and mentions anything that is "unusual" in my dogs. My Maizie and Holly both have some very bad and obvious issues with their legs from past unc ared for inhuries. That aside he noticed my Fox walks on his tiptoes. My vet noticed it right away. Upon further examination and such he found Fox does have some bone structure abnormalities in his hips.

I guess because my vet is also a close friend he knows how I fret over everything with my dogs and is very thorough with my dogs and always tells me if something is not "normal" with them. Most vets may not say anything if they think it is not of grave concern to you
 
Sheltiemom, you are definitely lucky to have such a thorough vet! I have to say, they are definitely in the minority. Lucky you!

I have been very lucky. I stayed with Marc (my vet) because of this reason. He is amazing in my book. The fact he is my friend does not change how he is with all his clients. Marc (my vet) is very in demand as a vet and people now drive the 60 miles round trip to see him when he moved his practice. He is extremely caring and very thorough. I can't help but wonder if his age has something to do with it too. Marc is in his mid thirties and the older vets I have had in the past seem stuck in a rut regarding animal care

I wish my vet were as thorough and observant. There are times he refers to Romeo as a SHE. Sigh.
 
Romeo, you may also want to call around to differant vet clinics to see if they have a vet that also handles orthopedics. My vet is an orthopedic vet and he suggested to me that you can call and ask clinics if any of the vests had orthopedic experience. They do not have special listings in many foreign counties like they do here. Unlike human Dr's the only indicator of special training is to call to verify it at the clinic.
