Sick little girl

I am so glad you got to see her. I remember when Hamish was so sick, he wouldn't eat, not even his buttered toast he liked. It will come. She has been through a huge trauma.
 
What about real chicken in the blender with pumpkin or yogurt? Hugs coming your way. Give her time she went through a lot :)

We'll try the chicken with pumpkin. Thank you! They all have a spoon of real pumpkin on their food every night. Maybe she will recognize the smell as familiar.
 
Prayer for a Sick Pet

Heavenly Father,
Please help us in our time of need,
You have made us stewards of Scout
If it is Your will, please restore her
to health and strength.
We pray too for other animals in need.
May they be treated with the care and respect
deserving of all Your creation.
Blessed are You Lord God,
and holy is Your name for ever and ever

Just catching up on this thread, I think it was a great decision to get her to the ER vet and kudos to your vet for letting you know this may be beyond her expertice. Sending prayers for a speedy recovery for your little one.

Just the basic chicken and broth baby food may be a good start for her and very easy on her system. Check the lable and make sure it is not one with onion some do have that.

After staring at the phone all day, the doctor just called. Scout is hanging in there. Her white cell count is higher, which helps fight the infection. Her platelet count is low, she said par for the course, her albumin is low - doing its best to rid the infection.

She is on a cocktail of antibiotics and painkillers, plus plasma. She has not vomited and does not have a fever. She has shown no interest in eating yet.

The doctor encouraged family to come visit, as it will help perk her up, and maybe we can get her to eat where she won't for them.

Dear St. Francis,
We know you've been watching over Scout and she fights this dreadful illness. Please give her strength and courage to conquer and come through healthy and renewed. Guide the hands and heart of the veterinary team as they fight to save Scout. Give her family all the heart and fortitude they need to be there for this little one they love so dearly. Amplify all the prayers coming for Scout and carry them to the Good Shepherd who watches over us all.

Keeping Scout and your family in my thoughts! I understand your heartache as Greyson was hospitalized almost a year ago and I was a wreck. Don't forget to take care of yourself! :hugs
