Sure! I'm out of town this weekend so can't share video links, but we used Wendy Pape's teeter method. It really emphasizes driving to the end of the board. I think I posted my video here before--try searching "Lexi Wendy Pape" on here or even on YouTube.

I'd be interested to know too so will check it out. Epic did the full size teeter for the first time today and it looks as if he will not have enough weight to do a 2o2o without being tipped off by the rebound. Watching the videos from Crufts of shelties and other small dogs it looks like most have opted for a 4 on. I'm wondering though will that confuse him as he has got a very solid 2o2o?

I don't think so because the motion of the teeter makes it very different. I read Silvia Trkman's comment to someone that said because the motion cues the criteria (go until it bangs, then stop and wait), it isn't confusing.

Now, if you were just working end behavior (no motion/bang) it would be confusing.

Got it! Watched your tape, thank you much! Do you have a release word for leaving teeter and if you do when do you give it? It is crystal clear with 2o2o, 2 feet on the ground free to go but with 4on mmm, still thinking on this one.
Seashell, I am shaping 4on away from the teeter and it will have new cue so there will be little confusion, maybe little extinction behavior, no big deal. If you have solid 2o2o and it works there is no advantage to change IMHO

Yes, my two cues are different (for 2o2o vs 4o).

Honesty, Lexi is told to "hold" on the teeter as long I want her to. So sometimes it's quick, and in other instances I make her hold it longer, just like I do with the other contact obstacles. So she is told "okay" at different times. Sometimes I vary it up for practice (quick release vs asking for patience) and sometimes the course requires one or the other. So the answer to when I give my release cue is, it depends!

So few sessions of training on new object 4on, slamming cabinet doors did the trick. I have done a lot of similar exercises as you show on the tape from Wendy Pape tricks except one- running all the way on top to the target. Generally I am not fond of targets so we only did few and then faded to reward but it seems was helpful to understanding that we run uphill fast. All in all good improvement on our see saw, thanks for help!
Was just going to reply on separate post on kitty agility too but it got closed. That young lady puts a lot of trainers to shame:razz: I believe she does compete in agility with her sheltie so we might accept honorary kitty too:biggrin2:
