Slipped Out of His Collar

But if you don't feel the need for a collar 24 x 7 then I suppose a harness is a viable solution. the problem with a harness is that you can't keep it on 100% of the time.

Too many horror stories of lost Shelties makes me want them collared all the time.

I was planning to keep his collar around his neck, and just use the harness for walks. Vash is chipped as well.

His normal collar vanishes into his ruff though so unless you go feeling around for it, it can't be seen.

I'm trying to figure out what to put on him as I worry about him getting loose in the city at night and no one seeing him till it's too late. They had some reflective collars at petsmart but I didn't think it would help much if it vanished into the hair.

The blinker light things would be an option as well but I don't know if I could keep it on him all the time. So far my best idea has been reflective duct tape, but I'm sure vash wouldn't be keen on that idea ;)

J & J dog supply carries martingales taht are 3/8" wide and small. I use these for my shelties and they have the chain not the nylon. They are less than $10. I haven't found them anywhere else. Also make sure the collar is worked down into the ruff because if it is just lying on top it will come right off the head.

I checked their website but only found the nylon (non-chain) martingales.

I had a blinker light for my black mix- worked really well. I bought the light/motion activated type so you didn't have to worry about turning it on. He wore it all the time and liked his bling :winkgrin:
