Sneezing before barking???

very interesting.

this is an interesting thread. Out of our 4 shelties; ony one, Gage, is really a constant barker. when I command him to stop (it gets a bit much in some situations) he proceeds to sneeze instead. maybe as a substitute for the barking?
 
My parents Sheltie always sneezes when he's happy and excited. Shelties are great communicators. I think the sneezing is just another way to communicate.
 
I am comforted to hear that sneezy snorts are just part of the sheltie charm. I was kind of wondering if we had a food allergy with how many sneezysnorts we get. Morning "I'm in the bed horray!" sneezysnorts. Rubbing the couch like a cat sneezysnorts. Tall ones are on the computer and ignoring me sneezysnorts. I see a Kong coming out of the freezer sneezysnorts. I think they're adorable.
 
Chloe sneezes before she gets excited. It was great because it made shaping the behavior of sneezing easy and now she sneezes on command!
