So glad I found this site

Daisy's Mom

Hello,

We just brought home a petite female Sheltie named Daisy. She is four months old and has made herself right at home. We have another small dog and two cats, but Daisy has asserted herself really well. Even our picky Persian is now relaxed around her. I have to relearn training since it has been a while since I trained a puppy, but she has a very easygoing personality and is willing to listen.

I have really enjoyed reading some of the threads on this site, and I am so grateful to have a resource for my questions. Daisy's ears were glued by the breeder, but they are no longer. They look great now, but after perusing other threads it sounds like we may want to reglue them at some point.

I have also enjoyed reading about the mischievous Sheltie personality. Already Daisy is testing us. She loves to sneak off with one of my slippers. She also stole some laundry I was folding, parading it through the house like a trophy. She is just so darn cute, I have to remember to set clear boundaries.

Oh, and I have to mention her bark. She was so quiet, we figured she would never bark. Then she made a little throaty sound one day, and I thought, well, she's finding her voice. The next day she let out a cute, little bark. Just one, that was it. I hear Shelties can be big barkers, so we'll have to see how that develops. We don't want her to be too vocal.

I'm still learning how to navigate this site, or I would include a photo of her. I'll post one when I figure it out.

Looking forward to learning about all things Sheltie!

Welcome to you and Daisy! There's lots of good information here, especially about those pesky Sheltie ears. We'll look forward to pictures once you can post them. :)

Welcome to SN to you and Daisy (I love the name Daisy, was the name of my last dog!). To post pictures you can either become a premium member or go to any photo sharing site and copy and paste your pictures.
My little boy Piper is now 2 1/2 but I remember when he was that age, if I couldn't see him and it was quiet he was up to something! Can't wait to see pictures of your little girl!

I find myself saying that daily!
I am so glad I found this site!
Welcome! The members here are so kind and compassionate! We may not have all the answers... but we are here to help and support all our Sheltie parents! Lend a shoulder, listen, and offer advice where we can. I have been on this site for years and understand the tremendous support it can offer!

Thanks Kelly!!!
