So...is it OK to give a raw treat once a week?

I've read that you shouldn't feed any bones that are weight bearing, such as legs. Just my opinion, though.

Well they had their first raw meal tonight. Figaro won the crunch and munch award, chewing and chomping his down in record time. Emma surprised me by actually working on hers for quite some time. She wasn't having problems with it, she LOVED it and was savoring the moment. Indy took the longest with his but that didn't surprise me. They all seemed quite delighted with the new food. We'll see how their systems handle it but so far so good.

Emma and Figaro got a chicken leg each. Indy, Sasha, and Newton got a drummette each. We plan to feed raw once a week to help with cleaning teeth.

Hehe Gotta be careful starting this...

I've given April several raw treats (legs, boneless, skinless chicken breast as I put the rest of the package contents on the BBQ for me), and now, she's starting to turn her nose up at her old treats.

'Awww, comeon, where's the good stuff Dad?' :-)

They can get expensive (particularily the boneless skinless breast route).

Is turkey have less calories than chicken? I usually feed the boy chicken....boiled though, because he won't eat anything raw so far.
