soft crate- is this the right size for alfie?

Where do you store all those crates?! :p your shelties must all be in size because I'm skeptical Alfie will fit in a 30" crate, let alone 24"!

Well I just wento to try fitting it in the car... It managed to just NOT fit(the sides can't be placed all the way down) so I have to return this crate. Alfie kept on standing on it when I was unfolding it lol he likes it I can tell.

Since guardian gear is out of stock for medium here, would anyone recommend pet gears soft crates? It's cheaper, but at what cost?

Actually in the car 2 dogs share the small wire crates with room to spare. They lean up against the side and on each other. They do this even in the giant kennel.

The one on top is the one in my van and the bottom 2 are the size up.

This is my 42"(made a mistake it is not 52") A rottweiler or a malmute can lay in that kennel comfortablely. All 6 of those shelties are more than happy in that kennel. Birch spends the day in this kennel and it is huge! and only 4" longer than your soft sized one.

Ember and Diva are in the 13" range , Justice is 15 and currently Birch is currently 14" but no matter how bigger he gets gets he would be swmming in a 38" or even 31"

I didn't see this post. Let me see if I can find mine. Okay, here it is.

Navy Blue Elite Field Crate

The biggest reason I chose this crate was the quality. I had seen others and even bought a different one, but the quality just wasn't the same. There are better ones out there, but for me, for the price, it was great.

I know you said the other one didn't fit, so definitely check out the specs on this one. It's taller and wider (not longer) than most.

I know many others here have different brands that have held up just fine. Maybe you can find one that is good quality and the size is right.

Trust me, I know 30" was too small for Koji to be comfy in it for hours and in the heat. It seems like Alfie and Koji are the same size.

Thanks guys, well I'm going to use iit mostly at home as his sleeping crate, hoping that if we do travel occasionally I can bring it along too. Alfies quite long in body but he's not tall, and I want him to have room to stretch in. I returned guardian gear and have been looking at alternatives. The 32" (XL)one from "let's go" seem pretty good, I like The steel frames that should last longer. It's a bit heavier as a result though.

Or maybe a large size will suffice, I really don't know anymore == he's 29" long laying on his side, This large one might be a bit small? Or just right?

Edit:
@k9creations: I have a problem with wire crates... He's trained to go toilet in it. (We use ones with a wire bottom so he won't walk all over his pee.) I'm worried if I get another wire crate he will think of it as a toilet@@otherwise I would've gone for one, they are so much cheaper :p

@justicemum your photos are simply awesome!!! That's a lot of shelties stacked nicely in a car XD ahhh must feel pretty good to see them behaving so nicely with each other crammed up :p alfie Is 16.5" tall, not oversized by a lot but he's long.
