I just put mine back up today so I measured the door opening. It's 19 inches from the floor to the top of the opening. I think it's actually larger than a crate door opening. (My more 'comfortably poofy' girls have no trouble wandering in and out of it... :lol: Actually, my 2-year-old granddaughter does too!)If you think Claire might need more space inside, I'd order the two extra panels that make it a bit bigger.

I also put this pad on top of the interlocking squares. It anchors perfectly under the pen sides and is also waterproof. It's actually a whelping pad but I love them and use them for lots of things.

Yes my wife just measured ours. The door opening on the IRIS is higher than our crate and our crate opening is actually 17x17". I'm liking that the bottom of that door opening is lower than the one on our crate.

yes they look funny! I put Kaleigh in one when we had t-storms when she hit 6-8 mths to see if she would be comforted because the booming SCARED her crazy, she would shake, and I didn't want her to react. Thunderstorms here are the norm, I couldn't have her upset by it. I tried to make t-storms not so scary for her...we would sit out on the porch, while I held her and it boomed like crazy in her lil surgi suit and she got treats...then I used the suit on both my pups for the spaying deal...so NO not a fashion statement that is positive, but I think it worked wonders for Kaleigh, now she isn't reactive like she was to thunder. So I am grateful to the makers for coming up with something that helps...
 
My male Forrest gets a lot of relief wearing his thundershirt. That and the HomeoPet Anxiety TFLN Natural Homeopathic drops help A LOT for him during storms & fireworks.

That's very intriguing considering that Forrest and Claire came from remarkably similar circumstances. Tell me more about the "HomeoPet Anxiety TFLN Natural Homeopathic drops". Is that similar in effect to say something along the lines of Melatonin?
 
I have a friend with an anxious Great Pyrenees, and she swears by Thundertreats. I think they have chamomile..
